Sport journalist Saddick Adams Obama has also condemned the act and has associated the cause to such inhuman treatment to poverty.
He added that, prominent and wealthy people do not have their grandparents in witch camps but rather only paupers do so and only poor, old grandmothers are accused of witchcraft.
The multiple-award sport journalist posted on his Facebook page that;
“When I talk about poverty people don’t understand.
Why is it always the poor grannies who are sent to the Gambaga witch camp?
Has anybody seen a rich man’s mother or grandmother at any of those places before? Is it possible for a group of townsfolk to lynch an MP or DCE’s mother on allegations of being a witch? NO.
It is mostly the poverty stricken aged women who are seen flying at night”
He concluded that contrary to the popular adage of money being the root of all evil, it is rather poverty hence “poverty rather – is the root of all evil.”
